At the Danilovsky market, a mini-coffee shop and Camera Obscura store open

This Thursday, July 3, at the Danilovsky market, a mini-coffee shop and Camera Obscura store open, the creators of the project told Life around. Pavilion number 15 is located to the right of the main entrance to the market.

At the Danilovsky market, Camera Obscura will sell coffee in the form of grain and tea from Taiwan in small vacuum packages. "A few magnificent oolongs, some of which in general, apart from us, are not supplied to Russia. These are Eastern Beauty, and Red Jade, Taiwanese teguanyin and Alishan alpine oolongs. It makes them one of the small, but very well-known manufacturers with whom we are associated long-standing friendships, ”says Camera Obscura roastier Pavel Zhuravlev.

Coffee in the pavilion will be prepared more for testing than for sale: v60, aeropress, promise that "something will always be brewed in a filter coffee machine." Over time, there will begin to sell various devices for making coffee at home: coffee grinders, French presses and so on. Camera Obscura will work according to the schedule of the Danilovsky market, that is, from 08:00 to 20:00.

The idea to make an offline point on the market appeared here in the winter. We traveled to different markets on different days and at different times - we looked at what was happening, what kind of people were visiting these places, what was presented on the market from the similar, what did the markets themselves look like - in general, conducted field studies.

As a result, we realized that there are only three places where we would like to try. Most of all we liked the Danilovsky market. Located next to a major transportation hub, good traffic from excellent customers, perfect cleanliness and order in the market, good rental conditions. We started talking with the administration - it turned out to be excellent progressive people with a modern vision of market trade.

We were offered a couple of options for the pavilions, and we thought and figured out all possible ways of remaking them, and we chose the most tiny, with the most complex space geometry. An architect who reconstructed the Krasnaya Roza factory was involved in the project, and together they were able to come up with an original solution for re-equipping this pavilion.

In general, Danilovsky is, firstly, a unique architecture! The domed ceiling is from Nodar Kancheli, the hole in the center of which is blocked by the openwork dome of Fuller. The green roof of the market is nothing but oxidized copper: the entire dome is covered with copper sheets. Above the market you can see the top of the Shukhov Tower - beauty. And inside there are really very high-quality products, many farmers, various local producers of all kinds of delicious food. At prices absolutely normal. For the quality is not a pity to pay. And most importantly, sellers in the market! Many of them have been working for decades, each one has its own customers, all sellers and buyers know each other by name, they talk not about price, but simply about life as regular guests with a good bartender.

Camera Obscura - coffee roasting company and coffee roasters Pavel Zhuravlev and Nikolay Chistyakov (formerly the main barista at Les coffee house). Camera Obscura does not yet have its own roasting shop, now they are renting a roaster from Coffee Workshop and are waiting for theirs, which will appear in the fall. They are cooked on beans fried by Kamera, for example, in Good Enough cafe, The Burger Brothers and Pantry, Mi Piace network (filter coffee), in Strelka, Solyanka, Milk, Karabas and Hub bars . The team has its own coffee subscription service.
